Ahmad Imtaz bin Amir Hamzah

Full Name: Ahmad Imtaz bin Amir Hamzah ( Imtaz )

DOB/Place of Birth : 11th January 1988/Penang

About Myself :

I started riding at the age of 6.My interest in horses was nurtured by my father who was a jockey at the Penang Turf Club.My first riding experience was at my uncle's polo stable in Ipoh . I rode there for several years.

The Perak Pony Club was my first step into the equestrian field. After my secondary education,I was offered sponsorship under the Equine Industry Development Project to work at the Perak Turf Club Equestrian Centre.I improved on my riding skills under my coach and was encouraged to take part in competitions to gain exposure.

I gained a wealth of knowledge and experience from the Perak Turf Club Equestrian Centre. However ,having said that , I felt that to go even further in the equestrian field,I had to go out and gain even more knowledge in the area of coaching and training.

I have now returned to the Perak Turf Club Equestrian Centre and am employed as a riding instructor.I will be sitting for my Introductary Coaching exam this year and will hopefully complete my Level 1 course next year.

The horse that I am presently riding for competitions is Super Jogger who is an ex race horse that has been under my training since I first started at the equestrian centre. He is 11 years old and is able to jump at a height of 1.25cm.I am presently training 2 newly retired race horses and hope that they are both will achieve teh same success or even go further than taht I have with Super Jogger.

  2. hmm, I bet you are not the only person having the same perception regarding this well respected individual. From what I experienced througout my time there, I was treated no better than a slave to be honest. I was never obligated to be there in the first place but yet, somehow I was threatened by this well respected individual that if I fail him, he could be very mean.........oh well, I understand that you have exceptionally good riding skills, yes, you did told me that you have a family line of riding....but just so you know, that interpersonal skill of yours is worse than anything on earth dear imtaz. And just so you know dear Mr Imtaz, rich individuals sent their children to be under your guidance in order for them to gain first hand exposure to riding. They wish to see their children excel in equestrian sports. Thus, your job is to COACH them and not standing aside smoking. You were given a salary to coach, not to ask a 10 year old boy to do sit ups as a punishment. And just so you know, you're not really the boss of the equestrian centre. You are merely a coach, so, you should stop acting as if you are the owner there. As you are in this equestrian field, you should understand that maintaining a horse alone is no easy task, let alone a stable filled with horses. The employees there aren't in their early energetic teen years, there are in their mid 50's. Instead of sitting there smoking, you should probably help them out as you always claim that you want the workers to be efficient in order to maintain the stable. I do believe when you or other coaches are to help out, it would result in an extremely well-maintained stable.

Besides that, you do not have to flatter with everyone about you mingling around with the elite class. Somehow, you are only mingling, and you are not one of them.....(sad truth :( ), so, stop acting like you are one of them. Being in the equestrian centre, you should be able to adapt with a wide range of employees, and not recommending or having your brothers to work in it. Can't you just compare with your own stoic sense regarding your current place of employment with other equestrian clubs? Do you think that your current equestrian club is in a good condition? The harsh truth is that, even bukit jalil's equestrian centre is way well maintained.

As a conclusion, I would just advice you to be more self conscious. Stop acting as if you have full ownership of your current place of employment. "Treat others the way you want to be treated". Well I understand that you are currently employed just because the management of the equestrian centre "begged" you to be in there right.......hmm.........times are changing Mr. Imtaz......there are way more coming out to this field instead of those from Majlis Ekuin Malaysia...in Kelantan alone, although people had less exposure towards retired race horses/show jumping horses, their standard of training paddy ponnies could potentially outweighs your knowledge of training horses. You should stop flattering of how great you are and stop comparing yourself and condemning how "dumb" are other riders that are certified by MEM. Stop telling others in private that, owh...this rider...I knew him/her......she is just lame/dumb...her way of riding is just funny......LOL.......

I wish you all the best in your life Mr Imtaz

P/S: erm....I WOULD be expecting backlash from you saying that I am a coward to comment anonymously.....well, it is just similar on how are you flattering yourself and backstabbing coaches around malaysia in private :)
